Wilderness Lodge is our favorite Walt Disney World resort. Whether we are resort guests or just stop by for food or recreation, we always seem to find ourselves at Wilderness Lodge on every Disney World vacation. Here are five reasons it’s our fave…

1. Feels Like Home
As a National Parks-loving family, we are drawn to the outdoors so we absolutely love the decor theme at Wilderness Lodge. The wood beams and natural decor are so comforting and here we feel … home. Cozy seating spaces with fireplaces can be found on several floors overlooking the magnificent lobby and are where I often find my husband early in the morning before the kids wake up!

2. Peace and Quiet
Wilderness Lodge is set apart from the Disney hustle and bustle in a peaceful setting and is quieter than most deluxe Disney resorts. While monorail loop resorts like the Contemporary Resort and Polynesian are busy with visiting guests at popular restaurants, there is far less commotion at Wilderness Lodge.

3. Boat Transportation to Magic Kingdom
We stay at Wilderness Lodge on days we plan to spend at the Magic Kingdom. The park entrance is a convenient 10-minute boat ride away. Walking out to the misty Bay Lake dock at sunrise before most of Disney World has woken up and enjoying the scenic, tranquil ride along the water while avoiding the monorail or ferry boat rush is simply the ideal way to arrive at the Magic Kingdom.

4. Bunk Rooms
We were delighted to receive an upgrade to a bunk room on a recent Disney vacation. The bunk beds not only provide separate sleeping spaces for the kids, but also make the entire room seem bigger since it only occupies the floor space of a twin bed.

5. Natural Pool Setting
Wilderness Lodge’s Silver Creek Springs pool rarely makes any “best pools at Disney World” lists, but, again, we love the natural setting and peacefulness of this pool. Its unique feature is Silver Creek Springs which appears to flow from inside the hotel lobby to the outside and into the pool (the water sources are, in fact, separate). The stream flows into the deep end of the pool and is the ultimate relaxing pool space to lounge in the warm water while listening to the flowing stream.
We love Wilderness Lodge for so many more than just 5 reasons. Bike trails, great quick service food choices, boat rentals … a list of 5 more reasons we love this resort is already in the works!
